Endeavoring to recommence the successful culinary collaboration with prominent chefs several years back, The Dharmawangsa organizes another rendition of “Indonesian Culinary Stars”. Located at the Jakarta Restaurant & Courtyard, the special event showcases a  wide spread, lavish Indonesian dishes from three different regions of the archipelago. Guest Chef Petty Elliott and Vindex Tengker joined hands with the resident Executive Chef, Felix Budisetiawan, to present their carefully selected, uniquely crafted courses.

Sulawesi Cuisine by Chef Petty Elliott: September 1st – 10th

The leading lady of the culinary industry, Petty Elliott will represent the dishes from Sulawesi. It is well-known for its rich variations of seafood, fearless amount of spices, extra hot condiment, and European-influenced deserts. Chef Petty Elliott has formulated each of the courses with her own flair.

Menu includes: Lawi-lawi, Gohu Ikan, Ayam Masak Dibulu, Seafood Pallumara and selection of ice cream inspired by Sulawesi ingredients such as Toraja Coffee Ice Cream and Papaya Tono Sorbet.

West Java cuisine by Chef Felix Budisetiawan: September 21st – 30th

The freshness, effortless taste of hearty cuisine from West Java region will be ready with a ranging taste from salty, refreshingly sour, mildly sweet, to hot and spicy. The Dharmawangsa’s Chef Felix Budisetiawan will craft these tasty treats.

Dishes include: Karedok, Mie Kocok, Nasi Timbel, Cumi Balakutak, Gurame Cobek, and selection of traditional sweets such as Awug, Gemblong, and Es Cendol.

Yogyakarta and Central Java Cuisine by Chef Vindex Tengker: September 11th – 20th

Indulgence in its simplicity; cuisines from Jogjakarta and Central Java are well-loved for their comforting aptitude. The liberal use of palm sugar or sweet soy sauce has made people perceive that the food from these regions tastes sweeter than others.

Chef Vindex Tengker will represent the gracious favorites such as: Tengkleng Kambing, Brongkos Iga Sapi, Bistik Jawa, Garang Asam Ayam, and Nasi Golong.

Each of the buffet purchased will be partly donated to Yayasan Wisma Cheshire; a residential, vocational training program for adult men and women with mobility disabilities.
